Christensen) comes from a military and law enforcement background so his focus is on practical training methods. Even if you were only to pick up a few tips from this book to add to your training routine, the book is well worth the read. It is also great to have on your shelf as a reference to mix up your training routines over time.

The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life Before 8AM by Hal Elrod
This book provides a unique perspective on goal setting, achieving your goals (success), and life satisfaction. It gave me some great ideas as to how I could set up my own morning routines to integrate my Martial Arts training daily along with my other life goals…and all before I would head off to work each day! It is an easy read (less than 200 pages) and I highly recommend it.
Martial Arts Entertainment Books
The title is self explanatory. This is a well researched and formatted movie guide of over 500 films for fans of the old classic movies like myself.
My favorite piece of solo training equipment. Sure, not as good as a live partner but great for practicing both punching and kicking combinations. Since BOB XL has anatomically correct features it makes it easier to monitor and improve the accuracy of your strikes. Very durable design. I recommend filling the base with sand that you can purchase in bags from a local hardware store.

These gloves are advertised as “MMA Grappling gloves” but I also found them to be great for general training with BOB XL above. They have an open thumb design so they feel more like a natural fist when punching but still protect your knuckles. They also allow enough flexibility for a variety of other hand strikes practiced in traditional Martial Arts such as knife hand strikes and ridge hand strikes.
